MSU students' assault hearing delayed

The preliminary examination scheduled for Wiley Graham, one of two MSU students charged in connection with an Aug. 28 assault of a police officer at Dover's Crossing apartments in Lansing, was postponed Thursday in Lansing's 54-A District Court.

Attorneys for the prosecution and defense moved for an adjournment because the Lansing police officer assaulted in the incident was not present at the hearing.

Graham, who is a food management junior, and physics junior Woodard Williams were charged with one felony count of assaulting a police officer and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

Judge Louise Alderson granted the adjournment and didn't set a date for the next hearing.
