Embryonic stem cell research needless

It is time to set the record straight: Embryonic stem cell research is a dead end. Despite all the time and money invested, embryonic stem cells produce one thing — tumors.

The plain and simple truth is that there is little or no value in continued embryonic stem cell research. Adult stem cell research, on the other hand has great medical value.

Adult stem cells can be found in bone marrow, umbilical cord blood and several other locations in the body. These cells are currently being used in dozens of medical treatments for conditions including Parkinson's, leukemia and some forms of cancer.

Furthermore, by using a patient's own stem cells, there is very little chance of rejection — eliminating the need for anti-rejection drugs. And on top of that, the ethical questions about using embryos is completely eliminated.

The choice is clear: Adult stem cells have great potential and embryonic stem cells do not.
