A Sony Ericsson cell phone was stolen from a computer desk at about 1 a.m. Tuesday on the Main Library's first floor, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The 18-year-old student said he left the phone on a desk while he got a book and found it missing when he returned a few minutes later. The student called the phone and told the person who answered that he wanted his phone back. The person said he would return it if the student paid $50 for it, McGlothian-Taylor said. The suspect then ended the conversation. The suspect was described as a 5-foot-7-inch man, 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.A 19-year-old student reported her student ID card stolen between 3 and 4 p.m. Saturday when she left it at the front desk of Hubbard Hall temporarily in exchange for a moving cart, McGlothian-Taylor said. No one could find the card when she returned to the desk, but someone reportedly used it to get into the hall at 3 a.m. the next morning, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student did not get the card back. Police have no suspects.A wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker on a first-floor IM Sports-West locker room at about 11 a.m. Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said. A 28-year-old student left his wallet in the locker while he was showering and realized it was missing when he returned. The loss is valued at $91, and there are no suspects.Melissa Domsic
