Take a peek behind the curtain and test drive the NEW StateNews.com today!

Group's column shows ignorance

Direct Action's column, ("Direct Action members criticize State News for misrepresentation," SN 9/9) in response to being portrayed as terrorists by The State News successfully made them sound less like terrorists and more like the local flagship of "progressive" ignorance, which, believe it or not, is not a better public relations strategy. If DA could set aside their irrational and intellectually devoid rage for five minutes, perhaps they could begin to contemplate how freeing up National Guard units and having more money on hand wouldn't have made any difference in the Hurricane Katrina response debacle. The botched operations in the Southern states were caused by the layers of red tape that come with the bureaucratic mess our country is in, not the raping and pillaging of foreign nations by an imperialist, Zionist theocracy that doesn't even exist.

DA has nothing to back up their ridiculous claims but the claims of people equally as unhinged, and their rhetoric is poison to the student population. Get out of Lansing's schools, get away from this campus and go join Cindy Sheehan in the middle of a field. You do not represent the next logical step for minority rights. And why is The State News praising Hillary Clinton for wanting to trim down the Department of Homeland Security? This is the same Hillary who wanted our nation's health care run in an equally bogged-down government mess.
