I am appalled at the audacity John Bice shows in his latest column concerning Christianity ("Both testaments preach discrimination, promote inequality" SN 8/31).

I consider myself respectful of other ideas, even when I might disagree. However, Mr. Bice seems to think it is his responsibility to personally crusade against the "Christian values" held by many people in this country.

I seriously take offense to the allegation that Christians are bloodthirsty and violent people that follow a "Jesus" that was only looking to promote violence and his own human fame.

It makes me wonder what Mr. Bice thinks about other religions, and why he does not make any statements similar to this about Islam, Judaism and other organized religions. I am completely disgusted that The State News finds no problem publishing this kind of "hate speech", and I demand an apology and a retraction.
