The Bible calls the homosexual act "detestable." It must be made clear that it is the act that is detestable, not the participants. Christians are called to love one another but not tolerate sin.
The Bible cannot be interpreted to mean the exact opposite of what it says ("Letter writer wrong with interpretation" SN 7/19).
When it says "Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals ... will inherit the kingdom of God," this cannot be construed to mean that the homosexual act is moral.
Society is attempting to make tolerance a virtue. Tolerance of differences is one matter - in fact we need differences to function, but we should not tolerate sin. Sinners yes, sin no.
