Police briefs 02/24/05

A 24-year-old male employee reported that a 35-year-old male employee pushed him at the Kellogg Center at 10:35 a.m. on Feb. 17, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The two had reportedly been having problems previous to the incident.Officers contacted the subject who admitted to pushing the other man, she said.The case is being referred to the Ingham County Prosecutor's office.• A 23-year-old male student reported his North Face backpack and contents were taken between 11:55 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. Tuesday from where he left it on a heating vent in an East Fee Hall rest room, McGlothian-Taylor said. Taken was the backpack, a checkbook, a $20 lunch box, a $40 zip drive, $25 gloves and a $180 Texas Instruments calculator.The man recovered most of the items after he discovered them in a wastebasket and laundry cart in the basement of the hall, she said.The case is still under investigation.Lauren Phillips
