A 46-year-old female employee reported her purse was taken between 1:25 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. Monday from an East Fee Hall office, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The purse, valued at $500, contained various identification and credit cards, a checkbook and $30 in cash, McGlothian-Taylor said.The woman told police she left her office unlocked for a meeting and the purse was left in an unlocked desk drawer.The suspect is a male and the case is still under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.• A female staff member reported finding a hunting knife in a Phillips Hall dorm room Dec. 22, McGlothian-Taylor said.The staff member was checking the status of the fire alarm in the room when she came across the knife, McGlothian-Taylor said.The owner, a 20-year-old male student, told police he was a hunter and had left the knife in his backpack when he returned to school. He apologized for having the knife, McGlothian-Taylor said. The $25 knife was confiscated, she said.Lauren Phillips
