Michigan's first female governor will join fellow Democratic governors in assisting her political party's cause.
Gov. Jennifer Granholm is set to become vice chairwoman of the national Democratic Governors' Association when she attends the group's biannual meeting today.
The governors will convene in Washington, D.C., to elect new leadership and set their agenda for 2005.
As vice chairwoman, Granholm will be involved with lobbying, setting policy and assisting in campaign activities for Democratic governors in the national spotlight.
