Women's hoops drops championship game

MSU women's basketball team lost the championship game of the 26th annual Rainbow Wahine Classic to Texas Christian after failing to maintain a 10-point lead with less than 10 minutes left in the second half.

The Lady Frogs improved to 5-1 after beating No. 13 MSU by 80-75 on Sunday in Honolulu.

MSU junior guard Lindsay Bowen had a game-high 33 points with six 3-pointers. Senior center Kelli Roehrig had 22 points and 12 rebounds.

TCU's Sandora Irvin was named MVP with 23 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and two blocks.
