I think that it is wonderful that MSU's biggest spirit section - the Izzone - is making things even better. I am a huge Spartan fan. I am starting my third year in the football and hockey spirit sections but have never had the chance to even camp out for the Izzone. I have entered the lottery three times and lost each time, while some of those with guaranteed Izzone spots have become complacent and taken their position for granted.

The Student Alumni Foundation (SAF) proved once again to be well-attuned to Spartans spirit by not only realizing the problem but also providing a great solution. This improved system will not only weed out the more lukewarm applicants who are only interested in the lower bowl, it also allows unlucky students the chance to prove their dedication from the stands. The new ticket scanning equipment being used will allow SAF to monitor attendance and arrival times and to adjust the chances of getting into the lower bowl for the more dedicated fans. Even if I don't get into the lower bowl this year, I know I should get in the next year now that I can earn it. Thanks again, SAF.
