Police briefs 08/17/04

• A female student reported receiving three harassing phone calls from an unknown male between 9 a.m. on June 5 and 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday in her Owen Graduate Hall dorm room, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.McGlothian-Taylor said the 21-year-old student was one of several women on the east wing floor who have received similar calls. They all indicated a male with a deep voice asking questions such as, "Did I wake you up?" and "What are you wearing?" McGlothian-Taylor said.• A moped was impounded at about 3 p.m. on Aug. 5 from the basement of Owen Graduate Hall because it was creating a safety hazard, McGlothian-Taylor said.A 44-year-old male employee found the moped near the east wing stairway of the residence hall. The moped, which is supposed to be kept outside because with its engine it is considered a motor vehicle, was registered to a 26-year-old male student, McGlothian-Taylor said.
