A 48-year old male professor reported to police a flat-screen computer monitor valued at $300 was stolen between 1:30 p.m. on July 6 and 10 a.m. on Thursday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The professor, who was moving from one campus building to a new office in the Psychology Research building, stated he couldn't recall if the black 18-inch monitor was in his unlocked office on July 6 while attending a meeting, but he said when he left for the day it was locked. He reported it missing on Thursday, when he returned to find his office door wide open, McGlothian-Taylor said.Police have no suspects in the theft. A private moving company was assisting in the move, McGlothian-Taylor said. A $400 bike was stolen between noon and 12:50 p.m. Saturday from outside Bessey Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said. The bike, which was registered with the MSU Department of Police and Public Safety, was owned by a 50-year-old male who was canoeing with his daughter, McGlothian-Taylor said.The pair reportedly locked their bikes together on a bike rack on the east side of Bessey Hall with a cable lock. When they returned, the red and gold 2000 Sedano Giant mountain bike was gone and the lock had been cut, McGlothian-Taylor said.Police have no suspects.Jonathan Malavolti
