A 26-year-old female with no university affiliation reported to police her backpack had been stolen between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on June 8 from the second floor of the Main Library, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The Lansing resident told police she left the backpack unattended on a chair. Its contents included a Panasonic portable CD player containing one CD, together valued at $100.Police later located the backpack on the floor in a book aisle, but the CD player was missing. A wallet containing $8 was stolen from a stroller on the north side of the Beal Botanical Garden between 2 and 3 p.m. on June 8, McGlothian-Taylor said.The complainant, a 35-year-old female with no university affiliation, told police she discovered the nylon wallet, valued at $10, missing after taking her children into the garden.Police have no suspects.Jonathan Malavolti
