A 24-year-old male was arrested Friday after a MSU Department of Police and Public Safety officer spotted the non-student using a snow shovel to damage another 24-year-old non-student's car in the parking lot of the 1400 block of Spartan Village, McGlothian-Taylor said. The two Lansing residents were separately attending an unknown male's party in an apartment and later began fighting. McGlothian-Taylor said alcohol was involved.A report said the victim, who refused medical treatment, suffered abrasions to the face, neck and arm. The subject was later released and the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office.The damage to the 1988 Oldsmobile was estimated at $300 and included a scratch near the driver-side roof and dent on the driver-side door. • Two females, with no affiliation to the university, were involved in an assault and battery at the Kellogg Center on Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The victim, an 18-year-old Williamston resident, was picking up her father from a wedding reception he was attending when she was assaulted, McGlothian-Taylor said. The assailant, a 33-year-old Lansing resident, verbally and physically assaulted the victim and followed her out to her car, McGlothian-Taylor said, where she broke off a side view mirror. The victim, who is three months pregnant, did not know the other subject, who was being restrained by her boyfriend, according to McGlothian-Taylor. The subject was arrested and released, and the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office.
