Students concerned about personal safety will have the opportunity to attend a free self-defense seminar this weekend.

The "Combating an Armed Attack (Weapons) Seminar" will address the issue of using physical defense against an attacker carrying a weapon.

Dan Smith, a self-defense instructor at MSU, will lead the seminar. Smith has more than 24 years of experience in martial arts.

The seminar will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at IM Sports-West's Turf Arena. No registration is required, and this event is free to MSU students.
