I am sorry Janelle Jennifer Jordan's sensibilities were upset by the publication of a picture of the mutilated bodies of two "civilian" employees of the private security firm Blackwater Security Consulting in The State News ("Graphic picture doesn't belong in SN" SN 4/7).

However, I think it is very appropriate that the American public is allowed to see the results of the invasion of Iraq in all their raw, unpleasant details.

It is fair that Jordan feel disgusted and appalled, but perhaps her indignation is better spent considering the policies that brought about the deaths of these men, rather than blaming the media that allowed her to see something so unpleasant.

I, for one, applaud The State News for fulfilling its journalistic obligations, especially when so many other media outlets failed.
