An 18-year-old female student told police a man attempted to break into her East Wilson Hall room on Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The student said she was in her suitemate's room when she heard the man enter her room. When she returned to her room, she saw the man attempting to take her laptop computer and items from her roommate's purse.When the student asked the man what he was doing, he apologized, said he was in the wrong room and left.Police have a description of the man and are continuing to investigate.• A male employee, 23, told police a device was stolen from Lot 56 near the Instructional Media Center between Feb. 16 and Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said.The device, an electronic logic module, is kept in a box on the gated entrance to the lot. When the employee returned to the lot on Tuesday, he noticed the box was unlocked and the device was missing.Estimated value of the loss is $4,000, and police have no suspects.
