Police briefs 03/02/04

A 22-year-old man with no university affiliation told police he was battered on Sunday at Breslin Center, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The student was at the Ludacris and Chingy concert when he said three or four men confronted him and accused him of spitting on them. When the man denied it, one of the four men punched him on the right side of his face, causing him to fall.The men proceeded to punch and kick the victim, who later sought medical treatment at Breslin. He did not want to be taken to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital for further treatment.Police have descriptions of the men involved and are continuing to investigate.· A female employee, 51, reported damage to her vehicle on Thursday, McGlothian-Taylor said.The car had been parked near Fee Hall and had multiple scratches and dents on the doors and sides.Damage is estimated at $500 and police have no suspects.· A 37-year-old male employee told police his car was scratched with an unknown object on Saturday, McGlothian-Taylor said.The car had been parked at Spartan Village, and damage is estimated at $500.
