The MSU gymnastics team placed fifth at the 2004 Big Ten Conference Championships in Minneapolis on Saturday, with a combined score of 196.025. Two gymnasts and the head coach received individual honors.
Sophomore Sarah Alexander was named First-Team All-Big Ten for the second time in two years, and freshman Victoria Iakounina was named to the second team in addition to being honored as Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Coach Kathie Klages became co-Big Ten Coach of the Year along with the coaches from Iowa and Michigan.
U-M placed first at the meet, followed by Penn State and Iowa.
