The fact that MSU is considering switching to block tuition has me nervous and angry. As a student who can barely afford college already, I now have more debt to look forward to when I graduate.

Unfortunately, my parents could not afford to give all of their children a free ride through college, and I must work many hours a week to be able to afford my education.

I doubt I could handle 18 credits and also work the hours that I need to work to stay in school. No matter how hard I work, my grades surely would suffer.

I still am a full-time student, but I must keep my class load fairly light so I have time to work and pay for the classes I am taking. This program forces the negative impact of a higher tuition upon me, without the benefit of an earlier graduation because I cannot increase my class load.

I encourage other students who are also working to speak out against this; it is clearly not in our best interest.
