An 18-year-old male student told police he saw a man attempting to steal his 1992 Honda from Lot 89 at Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Road on Monday.MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said the student was walking in the parking lot when he noticed the subject inside his car. The subject then got out of the car and fled in a dark green Acura Integra.Damage occurred to the driver's side window trim, steering column and ignition and is estimated at $1,500.Police are investigating. A male university employee reported a Dell computer monitor stolen from an office in Berkey Hall between Friday and Monday.The employee said he locked the office but noticed it was unlocked when he returned. McGlothian-Taylor said there were no signs of forced entry, and police have no suspects. Estimated value of the loss is $350. A male student, 18, told police that windows in his 1990 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been smashed by an unknown object.The vehicle was parked near the Brody Complex, and nothing had been taken from the car, McGlothian-Taylor said.Damage is estimated at $250, and police have no suspects. Several cars parked along Spartan Avenue were damaged on Sunday, East Lansing police Capt. Juli Liebler said.Windows were broken on three vehicles, and a garbage can had been thrown at a fourth car.There is no estimate on the cost of the damage, and police have no suspects. Police are unsure if the damage was caused by the same person, but Liebler said it appears to be a random act, possibly by intoxicated individuals.
