Every year, late one night in mid-October, the Breslin Center is jumpin' at the start of the MSU men's and women's basketball seasons. This year, the teams will begin "A Magical Journey" at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17.

The event was formerly called "Midnight Madness."

The teams will be introduced and free stuff will be distributed as the players and coaches sign autographs. Spartan Brass, MSU Cheerleaders, the MSU Dance Team and Sparty will perform during the evening.

The annual event will showcase the beginning of preseason practice; each team will scrimmage after midnight because of NCAA's restriction of practice-beginning dates.
