'U' rioters sentenced

Four MSU students were sentenced to jail time on Wednesday for their roles in the March 28-30 disturbances which resulted in more than $40,000 in damage to the city and campus.

Three of the students were banned from state-funded university campuses for one year. All of the students were sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay $4,410 in restitution by Ingham County Circuit Court Judge James Giddings.

Veterinary technology freshman Kimberly Martin, engineering sophomore Brian Balamucki, criminal justice freshman Tony Warren and psychology junior Timothy Ricker were sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to felony offenses related to the disturbances, Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III said.
