'BasketBowl' tickets available on Tuesday

Tickets for the "BasketBowl", the MSU-Kentucky basketball matchup at Ford Field in Detroit, will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday.

MSU ticket manager Chris Besanceney said 50,172 tickets have been ordered through private sales to Spartan donors and season ticket holders. The 19,028 remaining tickets for the Dec. 13 game are priced from $8 to $14.

Field-level seats will be set aside for students from MSU and Kentucky.

Davis and Ager pace national junior team

MSU sophomore center Paul Davis and sophomore guard Maurice Ager helped the USA Junior World Championship Team to a gold medal Saturday.

Ager scored 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting added 3 assists, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. Davis scored 9 points, connecting on 3-for-5 field goal attempts, including his one three-point attempt. He had five rebounds and two assists.

Throughout the five-game tourney, Davis' 9.6 points and 6.8 boards per game earned him a spot on the All-Global Games Tournament team.

The team's recent win guarantees them a trip to Thessaloniki, Greece, to compete in the 7th-annual FIBA Junior World Championship, which will be held July 10-20.

Fouch misses cut at U.S. Women's Open

MSU senior golfer Allison Fouch's dreams of a U.S. Women's Open championship were stopped short Friday, as her 20-over 162 throughout two rounds of play was not enough to advance past the cut.

Fouch finished her first-ever U. S. Women's Open Championship tied for 141st place.
