MSU senior forward Syreeta Bromfield is now a member of the WNBA's Detroit Shock.
The Shock selected Bromfield with their third-round pick, the 28th overall selection in Friday's draft, making the 6-foot forward the first Spartan on a WNBA roster.
Bromfield played two seasons for the Spartans, averaging a team-best 15.6 points in her junior season. Her team-leading 14.7 points per contest this season guided MSU to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1997.
The Jamaica native was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team in both 2002 and 2003.
Prior to her days as a Spartan, Bromfield played at Tallahassee Community College in Florida, averaging 16.2 points and 7.4 rebounds in her sophomore season and 13.9 points and 7.7 boards in her freshman season.
