Week features community service

March 17, 2003

Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority begins its community service oriented Skee Week today.

At 8 tonight in the University of Michigan Room in the Union, there will be an informational session titled "Health Issues for African-Americans." At 8 p.m. tomorrow in 339 Case Hall, students can learn about entrepreneurship in the "Be a Millionaire" session.

Students interested in graduate school are invited to attend "Be Encouraged," a discussion featuring current graduate and doctoral students at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Room 111 Bessey Hall.

Skee Week closes with "Let's Dance!" where students and sorority members learn ballroom dancing. The lessons begin at 8 p.m. Thursday in the basement of South Case Hall.

The group also is sponsoring an open-mic night at 8 p.m. Friday in the Wonders Hall Kiva. The sorority will venture off-campus to volunteer its time at the Ronald McDonald House, 121 S. Holmes St. in Lansing, on Saturday morning.

All students are invited to attend. For more information, e-mail aka@msu.edu.
