Tampa, Fla. - Florida was in need of Gator aid Sunday evening to quench its thirst for a trip to the Sweet 16.
But the Gators came up dry even though the No. 8-seeded Spartans drowned the No. 2 seed, 68-46.
The Spartans put on 24-of-46 shooting barrage from the field on top of connecting on 6-of-16 from 3-point land.
Freshman guard Maurice Ager led the Spartans with 16 points while Florida's David Lee countered with 16.
MSU pairs up with No. 6 Maryland on Friday, as the Terrapins ousted No. 3 Xavier earlier on Sunday.
