Best things are free

Adding notebooks to list of complimentary services would be good move for ASMSU

The best things in life are free, and sometimes so are the little annoying things. Buying notebooks every semester after paying an arm and a leg for books can be a serious burden, but students across campus might be able to take notes for free soon.

If ASMSU finalizes a program to distribute notebooks to students, the organization will add the freebies to a long list of complimentary services already provided to students.

The undergraduate student government has a program in place that provides 'U' with blue books - about 10,000 were successfully dispersed last year.

We just have two words for ASMSU: "Thank you."

Every student can use a little break, especially when it comes to school supplies.

ASMSU will also be add a list of services it provides on the notebook's cover. The organization offers many programs to students, including the blue books, free legal services and providing MSU's yearbook, Red Cedar Log, free of charge.

We all should be thankful for groups such as ASMSU, who work to provide the student body with worthwhile services.

Not trying to sound greedy, but wouldn't it be great if this trend of free stuff continued? Imagine it - free books, free meals and, gasp, maybe if the free train picks up steam, free classes. Whoops, who let the liberals out?

Anyway, we should be supporting groups such as ASMSU which are helping us through school financially and socially. Even if we're saving 25 cents on a blue book or $1.50 on a notebook.

Free blue books and notebooks are a great service for students, especially for those who struggle to get by at college, with the many expenses.

So next semester if ASMSU finalizes its plan, don't shove as many notebooks as you can into your bag like a greedy little 10-year-old on Halloween confronted with a punch bowl full of free candy. Take what you need and thank an ASMSU member.
