What is going on around here? Nowhere else in the world could a flier posted by some idiots gain front page standing. I think this entire thing is stupid.

Every day I see something offensive, whether it is written on the bathroom wall or carefully etched into a desktop. Just this morning I read a message written next to the bathroom sink from a person claiming he slept with my mother last night (and don't worry, there were illustrations).

Then I read today a quote from Shaw Hall Black Caucus Vice President Corey McBride which said, "It seems that every time something is done to an African American on campus, no action is taken" ("No optimism in search for flier culprit," SN 1/23). Did I miss something? Was anything done to anyone?

I'm sure the authors of this absurd flier are proud as peacocks of themselves because of all the media attention it is getting. What I hope all of you realize is that is exactly what they wanted. What that RA should have done is crumpled up that piece of paper, and throw it into the nearest trash can, because that is all the attention it deserved.
