Men's tennis

The MSU men's tennis team takes it undefeated record on the road for the first time this season. Play begins Saturday with MSU taking on Western at noon, while the matchup with Valparaiso begins at 4 p.m.

The Spartans (4-0) travel to Kalamazoo to face No. 46 Western and Valparaiso.

By going undefeated in January, the Spartans have amassed an undefeated record to start the season for two consecutive years, each year posting 4-0 marks.

Wrestling

The MSU wrestling team begins a six-match homestand this weekend.

The stretch includes five teams ranked in the top 25, including both of this weekend's adversaries, No. 20 Wisconsin and No. 9 Oklahoma.

MSU senior Karl Nadolsky needs two victories to notch 100 for his career, while senior Gray Maynard could move to within five victories of the century mark.

The 17th-ranked Spartans (3-5, 1-1 Big Ten) entertain the Badgers at 7 tonight, while the matchup with the Sooners begins at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Both contests will be held at Jenison Field House.

Women's tennis

The MSU women's tennis team continues a six-match homestand this weekend.

The Spartan's (2-2) face MAC opponents Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan, and are hoping their homecourt advantage will continue as they have gone 2-0 in East Lansing.

Junior Caroline Lay has sparked the team at the No. 1 singles position. She is coming off of a 7-5, 6-2 win in her single's match against Toledo.

The matchup with the Falcons begins at 6 p.m. Friday, while the Spartans host the Eagles at 10 a.m. Saturday. Both matches take place at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.

Women's gymnastics

After four close losses, the Michigan State gymnastics team will look to grab their first win of the season as they head into the weekend.

The team will be hosting No. 11 Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Western Michigan on Sunday at Jenison Field House in the State of Michigan Classic beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The Spartans are coming off a season-high team score of 195.175, which they posted last Saturday against Ohio State.

Men's and women's swimming and diving

Saturday will mark the end of the MSU men's and women's swimming and diving teams regular seasons.

Both teams will travel to the Oakland University Aquatic Center to face the Grizzlies at 1 p.m. for their final dual meet.

The teams are coming off of losses to nationally ranked teams last weekend. The men lost to No. 17 Penn State and the women fell to No. 14 Indiana and No. 20 Penn State.

Men's and women's track

The Michigan State men's and women's track teams will both head to South Bend, Ind., today to compete against Notre Dame at 7 p.m.

They will be the first dual meets of the year for both teams, who saw some field event success in last weekends Red Simmons Invitational.

The men's team was led by junior Steve Manz, who won his second consecutive shot put competition. The Spartans also grabbed three out of four places in the pole vault.

Last weekend the women's team earned three third-place finishes.
