Lecture to discuss bioethics

MSU's Department of Political Science will host their 14th annual lecture series, "Biotechnology and Modern Democracy" beginning at 8 tonight in the Kellogg Center Auditorium. The first keynote speaker is Leon Kass, chairman of the President's Council on Bioethics.

The next speaker in the series is Jerry Weinberger, who will give a speech titled "What's at the Bottom of the Slippery Slope: A Post-Human Future?" at 8 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Kellogg Center Auditorium. Weinberger is a political science professor, associate director of the Symposium on Science, Reason and Modern Democracy and director of the LeFrak Forum of political philosophy and public policy.

The series also will feature presentations by Peter Augustine Lawler and Francis Fukuyama.

Each event is free and open to the public.
