Stance on the issues:
Statewide voting system: Against making every precinct use the same voting style. Prefers optical-scan voting but supports punch card voting as long as the system can be counted at each precinct and is electronically connected to the county.
Pay/training for precinct workers: Plans to increase workers pay and training to ensure the most accurate results.
Use of technology/Internet: Would like to improve the Internet voting guide so people can get information on candidates in their precinct. Thinks Internet voting isnt in the near future.
Straight-ticket voting: Against it.
Voting with the address on your license: Supports the state Senate bill that requires voters to vote with the address on their license.
Absentee voting: Supports no-reason absentee ballots so every voter would have the ability to vote absentee. Im a working mom, and were busy, but we want to vote, Land said. The important thing is voting - not necessarily the day.
Office hours/lines: Wants to implement flextime at branch offices that would extend business hours and leave selected offices open on Saturdays. Says this will help eliminate long lines.
