A 20-year-old female student reported Monday that her Compaq laptop computer had been stolen from the Main Library, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.At 6:50 p.m. Oct. 28 the student left her computer unattended on a desk in the west wing of the library basement while she went to the restroom, McGlothian-Taylor said.When the student returned five minutes later, the computer was missing, McGlothian-Taylor said.The computer is valued at $2,000.• A 34-year-old South Carolina man reported his wallet stolen from his sport coat while he was at the Eppley Center on Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said. At 2:45 p.m. Monday the man left his coat in the north wing of the building to attend an orientation program, McGlothian-Taylor said.He returned at 5:45 p.m. to find the wallet and its contents missing, McGlothian-Taylor said. The wallet and contents are valued at $195.• A 37-year-old MSU employee reported carpet damaged in Rather Hall on Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said.Between 7 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday, the explosion of two firecrackers left burn marks on the hall's A-wing stairwell carpet next to the exit door, McGlothian-Taylor said.The damage is $50.• A 18-year-old female student reported two wallets stolen from her purse Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said. At 3 p.m. Monday the student forgot her purse on a Capital Area Transportation Authority bus after she got off at a bus stop near the Shaw Hall parking ramp, McGlothian-Taylor said.When she recovered her purse at 4:30 p.m., the wallets were missing, McGlothian-Taylor said.The contents of the wallets are valued at $20.
