The MSU womens soccer team split two games this weekend, upsetting No. 19 Kentucky 2-0 on Friday, then falling 1-0 in the 90th minute to Dayton on Sunday.
MSUs victory over Kentucky extended the Spartans record to 4-0.
Junior goalkeeper Stacy Heller made 11 saves in the contest. Junior forward Tiffany Laskowski and freshman forward Emma Harris added goals for MSU.
MSUs perfect record was soured on Sunday by Dayton in the games last minute.
Heller made eight saves, but was unable to stop Daytons forward Reba Sedlaceks header of a corner kick late in the game.
Until then, Heller had played more than 418 minutes without allowing a goal.
The Spartans (4-1) will return home 5 p.m. Friday to open the Big Ten season against Illinois at Old College Field. MSU will also be in action against Iowa. Game time is set for noon Sunday.
