Events

• The Kresge Art Museum presents Comic Culture Explosion at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 8. There will be a panel discussion moderated by museum curator April Kingsley. The group will consider comics from different perspectives. For more information, contact Julie Thomson at (517)353-9835.

• Alpha Phi Alpha will be going head-to-head with Phi Beta Sigma in a charity basketball challenge at 7:30 p.m. today. Admission is a monetary donation or canned food. For more information, contact Keith or Jamal at (517)355-8230.

• The MSU School of Music and the MSU Wind Symphony and Chamber Winds will host a concert accompanied by vocals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fairchild Theater. The concert is free for students and those under age 18.

• Into the Streets presents its annual community service event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5. Participants will go into the Lansing area to assist local nonprofit organizations. • The MSU Society for Human Resource Management will be hosting its annual fall conference at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 4. The conference, “Human Resources in Times of Change,” will feature human resource speakers from Boeing, Consumers Energy, The Home Depot and others. Lectures

• The Kresge Art Museum presents a talk by visiting artist Sue Williams at 7 p.m Thursday. She will speak about her artistic development, imagery and relationship to cartoon art. • Donald Lopez, a professor of Asian languages and cultures from the University of Michigan, presents “Tibet Under Chinese Rule” from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday in 201 International Center. Organization Meetings

• Campus Crusade for Christ will hold its “Prime Time” meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in N-100 Business College Complex. Meetings are held every Thursday.

• The Adventist Student Fellowship will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Friday at University Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 504 Ann St. There will be dinners on Friday evenings, including vegetarian menus. Activities

• The Outcast survival game will be held at the International Center at 9 p.m. Friday. The interactive show is sure to thrill audiences and winners, who will walk away with a cruise for two to the Bahamas. To be a contestant, come to the show at 9 p.m. to get your ticket. A drawing will be held to determine the 10 contestants.

• The third annual “Say Huh? Karaoke” competition will be held Saturday at the International Center. Tickets are required and applications may be obtained in 322 Union. Two tickets per MSU student ID are allowed. For more information, call (517)355-3354.
