Stanley Cup on display

Continuing the celebration of the Detroit Red Wings’ Stanley Cup victory, a public viewing of the trophy will take place tomorrow on the ground floor of the state Capitol.

Lord Stanley’s Cup, the oldest trophy in professional sports, will appear in Lansing courtesy of Red Wings team owners Mike and Marian Ilitch.

The viewing will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m. The three-foot tall trophy will also appear on the Senate and House floors at 10 a.m. and noon, respectively.

Families are encouraged to attend the viewing for which photography will be permitted.
