An MSU employee, 40, reported a fire in the trash bin inside the loading dock area of Student Services Building on Saturday, MSU police Lt. Kelly Beck said.At 3:56 p.m. the fire was noticed and the East Lansing Fire Department responded, Beck said.The trash bin and the overhead loading dock door were scorched, Beck said.The damaged trash bin is valued at about $50.• A Lansing man, 26, reported a lighted yellow and white Hungary Howie’s pizza sign stolen from his car Friday, Beck said.The pizza delivery man parked in the West Akers Hall parking loop at 10:50 p.m. Friday to make a delivery, and returned at 11 p.m. to find the sign missing and the passenger side window of his car smashed, Beck said.The pizza sign is valued at $150, and the total damage to the car is about $150. • An MSU employee, 30, reported the license plate from a trailer used for a concession stand at MSU football games stolen Friday, Beck said.Between 4 p.m. Sept. 14 and 3:30 p.m. Friday, the license plate was taken from the MSU Bookstore-owned trailer parked on the grass near Red Cedar Road and Kalamazoo Street, Beck said.The license plate is valued at $5.• A male student, 20, reported his wallet stolen from his Emmons Hall room Friday, Beck said.Between 7 -7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, the wallet was taken from the unsecured room, Beck said.On Friday the wallet was recovered in a trash can in the men’s bathroom on the first floor of Emmons Hall, Beck said.The student’s MSU ID and $30 was taken.• An MSU employee, 48, reported a generator owned by the Physical Plant stolen Saturday, Beck said.Between 3-10:23 p.m. Saturday the generator was taken from the flood plain area near the rock on Farm Lane, Beck said.The generator was secured to a tree with a chain and a lock, but they were both cut, Beck said. The generator is valued at $3,500.
