An armed robbery at American Fitness, 2361 Grand River Ave. in Okemos, on Tuesday has police searching for a man driving a blue 1999 Chevrolet Blazer with license plate NED 274.The man is described as black, 5-feet-11-inches to 6-feet tall, in his early to mid-20s, thin-to-medium build and about 175 pounds. He is said to have entered the business carrying a handgun and demanding money. He then forced a customer into the vehicle, Meridian Township Police said.After driving to East Lansing and demanding the customer remove money from his ATM account, the assailant drove to an apartment complex in Okemos where the customer was able to escape and notify authorities.• A female employee reported an obscene phone call at a Fee Hall office Tuesday, Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The caller originally reached a student and asked the color of her bra and lingerie. When he was turned over to the female employee, the caller repeated the question and hung up. Police have no suspects.• Two male students reported a cell phone and textbooks stolen from the second floor of the Main Library on Wednesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The men left the items unattended to visit a friend. When they returned, the cell phone, valued at $100, and textbooks, valued at $130, were missing. Police have no suspects.• A male employee reported $400 in damage to his 1998 Honda on Tuesday, McGlothian-Taylor said. Two participants in a summer sports program admitted to throwing water balloons at the vehicle from a sixth floor Wonders Hall window. They assailants were turned over to camp authorities.
