After round one at the NCAA Womens Golf National Championships on Tuesday, MSU was tied for 19th with a score of 305 - 20 strokes off the pace of tournament-leading Arizona.
Sophomore Sarah Martin shot the lowest score of the day for the Spartans with a 2-over par 74, a personal best for the championships and a season-best for 18 holes. Martin was tied for 30th after the first round.
Redshirt sophomore Allison Fouch was MSUs second-best performer, carding a 75. Seniors Emily Bastel and Stacy Snider followed, firing 77 and 79, respectively, in the first round. Junior Jessica Till is tied for 112th with a score of 81.
MSU teed off in round two Wednesday. The four-round tournament concludes Friday.
