The Michigan State Police First District Owosso Post was destroyed in a fire Tuesday morning. The fire began in an adjoining office building about 7:40 a.m. Personnel discovered flames and smoke leaking out of the office building, officials reported. At least two offices in that building also were destroyed.There were no injuries. Troopers were able to remove files, ammunition, weapons and evidence before evacuating the post, Michigan State Police reported.Firefighters worked until midafternoon to extinguish the flames. The State Police Fire Marshal Division is conducting an investigation into the fires cause. A male student reported his Sony PlayStation 2 and a DVD stolen from his Butterfield Hall room, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The door to the room was shut but unlocked when the items, valued at more than $220, were stolen. Police have no suspects. A generator from a construction site near Spartan Village was reported stolen, McGlothian-Taylor said. The generator, valued at $2,500, was behind a metal fence, which had a hole cut into it. Police have no suspects. A female employee reported an Iomega Zip drive stolen from an office in the Main Library, McGlothian-Taylor said. There were no signs of forced entry, but a door to the rear of the room was unlocked. The drive is valued at $99. Police have no suspects. Two female employees reported a computer, television and VCR stolen from the Auditorium, McGlothian-Taylor said. The items, valued at more than $1,900, were in a locked room, but there were no signs of forced entry. Police have no suspects.Mark Hicks and Shannon Murphy
