A male student reported a textbook stolen by four males, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student was riding his bike by Jenison Field House where he was approached by the males, who demanded he give them his backpack. The student handed them his bag and started running, abandoning his bike. Two of the males chased after him for about 15 yards. The student reached a green light phone and called the police, McGlothian-Taylor said. The male suspects took a book valued at $100 and left his bike and book bag on the sidewalk. Police conducted a canine search of the area but were unable to locate any of the suspects. They continue investigating. A student reported items stolen from IM Sports-West, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student placed her bag, which contained a swimsuit and wallet, valued at more than $120, in an unlocked locker. When she returned the items were gone. Police have two suspects. A female student reported damage to an East Akers Hall glass door, McGlothian-Taylor said. Police believe the glass was kicked, causing $500 in damage. Police have no suspects. A female Ann Arbor resident reported her jacket and wallet stolen from Armstrong Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said. The woman was visiting a friend and put her jacket and wallet down at about 1 a.m. When she awoke the next day at 10:30 a.m., the items, valued at more than $90, were gone.
