The Lansing Fire Department responded to a house fire at 101 Marshall St. in Lansing about 3:15 p.m. Monday, said Lansing fire Capt. Marvin Helmker. When firefighters arrived, smoke and fire were coming out of one side of the three-story house. Helmker said no one in the house was injured, but a firefighter was transported to Sparrow Hospital with minor injuries.More than 30 Lansing firefighters worked to put out the fire and many still were there at 7:30 p.m. Monday. When the fire spread to the attic and roof the firefighters had to be pulled out for safety reasons, but they worked outside pouring water on the flames. None of the businesses that adjoin the house were damaged, Helmker said.East Lansing, Delhi Township and Holt fire departments assisted in taking other calls while Lansing firefighters were at the house. The intersection at Michigan Avenue and Marshall Street was closed for the majority of the day. Fire officials are not sure of the amount of damage to the building, but a fire investigator will determine where and how the fire started, Helmker said.Shannon Murphy
