In an attempt to please everyone all the time, The State News will no longer be written by hired staff. Starting today, all members of the MSU community are invited to stop by Student Services and write their own articles, in which they can write about whatever they want, however they please.
April Fools.
That dreaded day is here when your friends are your own worst enemies, and everyone becomes fair game to be the butt of a joke. And its about time.
We live in a world afflicted with many stressors, such as terrorism, Middle East violence, and midterms and finals. Its hard to be anything but serious during times of turmoil. But there is nothing wrong with pausing for a moment to push problems aside, take a deep breath and laugh.
Use this day to have some good-natured fun - put plastic wrap on the toilet seat, place a bucket of water above the door or spread toothpaste on someones hand while theyre sleeping.
Taking one day to celebrate laughter and fun can be a great way to relieve some of the stress that many people are feeling nowadays.
Just remember while April Fools Day pranks usually involve an element of embarrassment, but they shouldnt aim to hurt someones feelings or be so vicious they crush someones existence.
Have fun without spreading hatred, bigotry or just plain stupidity. Please be safe this April Fools Day.
For a list of prank ideas, please turn to page 10C, where we have included a complete listing of gags, tricks and jokes the MSU administration has deemed to be acceptable and are sure to knock your friends out of their seats.
Gotcha.
