MSU Parking and Safety Bureau reported damage to the gate arm mechanism at the entrance of parking Lot 78, near the Duffy Daugherty Football Building, MSU police Sgt. Jennifer Brown said. An unknown metal object was used to pry the metal housing from its bolt. The amount of damage is not known. Police have no suspects.• A fight broke out at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Boys’ Basketball Semifinals on Friday at Breslin Center, Brown said. About 20 to 30 people were involved. No one was arrested, and there were no known injuries.• A male nonstudent was assaulted Friday in parking Lot 63, near Breslin, Brown said. The man was sent to the hospital. Police believe the case is related to the MHSAA Boys’ Basketball Semifinals. Police have suspects and are investigating.Shannon Murphy
