Criticize movies, not the audience

I am writing about Drew Harmon’s view on the movie “Queen of the Damned” (“‘Damned’ is goth at its worst,” SN 2/25).

His review was not about the movie itself. It was toward the “goth” and “freak” culture.

I am proud to say I have been goth for 10 years now. I drive my Lincoln to Pizza Hut, and don’t bitch about other people.

There are many well-educated, self-sufficient people in the world who are gothic.

I work a full-time career, am a father of two and am a dedicated husband. I pay my bills on time, contribute to the local United Way, go to Parent Teacher Association meetings and am still accepted by most people.

I listen to Korn, Pantera, Type 0 Negative, and still I do not like that fact that someone has a problem with people in the gothic subculture.

Harmon should stick to his bad taste and write about movies. He has no ability on judging fashion.

Thank you for your time, now I think I’ll paint myself up like a clown, get in my Lincoln (not my parents’ Saab) and get a pizza from Marco’s.
