Police briefs 02/25/02

A vehicle drove into the East Lansing Meijer, 1350 W. Lake Lansing Road, on Friday morning, East Lansing police Capt. Juli Liebler said. The driver of the 1997 Buick, a 75-year-old Dewitt man, had a seizure and can’t remember what happened, police said. The vehicle backed up at a high rate of speed, hitting a support pole near the center entrance of the store. The driver and his three passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated at Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital. There was extensive damage to the vehicle. The estimated cost of the damage to the vehicle and the store are unknown.• A male student reported damage to a window in the Bailey Hall lobby Saturday, MSU police Sgt. Jennifer Brown said. The student said someone punched the window, causing $400 in damage. Police have a suspect.• A female employee reported $200 in damage to a Physical Plant window, Brown said. The window was broken by a rock. Police have no suspects.• A male student reported personal items stolen from IM Sports-Circle, Brown said. The student left his keys and pants, valued at $35, in an unlocked locker. Police have no suspects.
