Check out Studiotone at Ricks

February 22, 2002

Lansing band Studiotone has been going through some changes lately.

“We’ve basically been working on breaking in our two new members, Jeff (Graham, guitarist) and (bass player and physiology junior) Brock (Elsesser) and working on new tracks,” vocalist Brent Nuffer said. “We’re really excited about our future and getting into the swing of things with our second record.”

Studiotone will perform Saturday at Rick’s American Cafe, 224 Abbott Road.

“We enjoy playing for a crowd or two people,” guitarist Brian Mauro said. “We have a good time out there, and we definitely want to take it to the next level.”

The show will be the first in East Lansing for Nuffer, an MSU alumnus.

“This band is very energized about the future,” Nuffer said.

Dave Saxton lays down the beat behind the drums for the band.

Four songs off the band’s debut record, “Digital Radio,” are in regular rotation on WBDM (88.9-FM).

The band is looking for cast members and extras to participate in a music video to be recorded in March in East Lansing. Those interested should send an e-mail to the director at terrillc@pilot.msu.edu.

Doors open at 8 p.m. for those 21 and over. Cover is $5. For more information on Studiotone, including free music downloads, visit www.studiotonemusic.com.
