Irish host ‘U’ runners

The men’s and women’s track teams compete in a dual meet today at Notre Dame.

The women’s team (1-0 overall, 0-0 Big Ten) kicks off its third meet at 6 p.m. against the Fighting Irish (1-1, 0-0 Big East).

MSU is coming off a win in the Red Simmons Invitational in Ann Arbor, a nonscoring meet.

The men’s track team (2-0, 0-0 ) continues its indoor season against the men’s squad in Notre Dame (0-2, 0-0 ).

Spartans hit the road

On Saturday, the No. 15 MSU gymnastics team travels to Evanston, Ill. for a 7 p.m. showdown against Illinois.

The Spartans (2-2 overall, 0-1 Big Ten) are coming off Saturday’s 193.875-191.200 loss to Iowa at Jenison Field House.

Tennis takes on two

For the second straight week the MSU men’s tennis team hosts a Saturday doubleheader.

The Spartans (2-0, 0-0 Big Ten) will host Toledo (2-1, 0-0 Mid American Conference) at 10 a.m. and Dayton (0-0) at 4 p.m.

MSU shutout both Wisconsin-Green Bay and Wright State at last Saturday’s meets to open the season.

Swim team on road

The women’s swimming team returns to action today, when it travels to Bloomington, Ind. for a dual meet.

The Spartans (5-3 overall, 1-2 Big Ten) face Indiana (4-0, 3-0) at 6 p.m. MSU continues on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Penn State (4-3, 1-1).
