Police briefs 01/28/02

A female student reported a male masturbating in Yakeley Hall on Saturday night, MSU police Sgt. Jennifer Brown said. The man was in an alcove by the reception desk when he was discovered by the student. Police have a suspect.• A female student reported close to $70 stolen from her Rather Hall room Sunday, Brown said. Police have a suspect and are investigating.• A male student reported a window in the Brody Hall multipurpose room broken Saturday night, Brown said. The student said the glass was broken during a pajama party. Damage is valued at $100 and police have no suspects.• A female nonstudent reported her cell phone stolen Saturday, Brown said. The women lost her $150 cell phone near Lot 75, on Kalamazoo Street, and when she went back to get it a few minutes later it was gone. Police have no suspects.• A female student reported her purse and all its contents stolen from the Main Library Saturday, Brown said. The student left the items, worth close to $3,500, unattended on a table. Police have no suspects.• A male student reported $2,000 in damage to his vehicle Saturday morning, Brown said. The student’s 2001 Pontiac was parked in Lot 32, on Fee and Wilson roads, had a profanity scratched into the paint. Police have two suspects.• A male student reported $1,500 worth of items stolen from his South Hubbard Hall room early Saturday, Brown said. A laptop computer and CD burner were stolen when the student left his room unlocked and unattended. Police have no suspects.Shannon Murphy
